Maya's 2nd Birthday...

This post is LONG OVERDUE!!!  I guess the birth of my second child is a good enough excuse as any ;)

The same day we welcomed Asher Thomas to the world, Maya B turned 2!  Fortunately, two year olds are fairly clueless about their birthday, so when it took almost two weeks to actually celebrate, she didn't seem to mind :)

We invited over family (and timing worked out that my dad and Sherry were in town for the celebration too!) and just a couple friends.  I didn't want to take on too much with a newbie in tow!

Cookies with Dad...

It's been so nice to have Brad home over the last week or so as we transition to a family of four!  Maya has gotten lots of extra quality time with dad and she's been loving every minute!  

The other day, they made cookies together.  Brad set everything up during nap time...pre-measured the ingredients, set out the appropriate utensils and set up the mixer.  He even got out aprons for both of them to wear!  It was super sweet!

I didn't get any "after" shots, but they were DELICIOUS!  Yay for fresh baked cookies and fun with dad :)

Siblings...

Bringing Maya to the hospital to meet Asher was one of the sweetest moments I've witnessed as a mom and an experience I won't soon forget. 

 To say that Maya was excited to meet and love on her baby brother is an understatement.  It truly went so much better than I could have anticipated.  She loves him and loves him fierce!  Now we just need to work on how to be gentle :)

Maya Bette

7lbs 9oz, 19 inches

Maya Bette finally made her debut on Saturday, February 12th.  After 17 intense hours of drug free labor, a slippery little being was placed on my chest and my life couldn't have felt more perfect.  She is absolutely amazing and we are so IN LOVE!
