Half way to ONE!! Crazy talk.
Lots of fun new things happened in Asher's world in month 6!
* As you can see in his bear pic, Asher can sit! He's not so great that I can plop him down and walk away by any means, but he can hold his own for no more than a minute. Interesting enough, he's still not a huge fan of rolling over. I've seen him do it, but he just doesn't seem to want to. Apparently, I shouldn't be concerned since he's moved on to the next milestone!
He loves to sit with sissy (mom right behind him!) and play blocks. She loves it too. It's one of our favorite activities in the afternoon.
*A little less than 2 weeks before he turned 6 months, Asher started solids! We decided to take a different route with solids than we did with Maya and doing Baby Led Weaning. There's a whole lot I could say about it, but maybe I'll save it for another post. Overall, it's going well. In month 6 Asher tried Avocado and Banana. He has tried Sweet Potato, Cucumber, Greek Yogurt, Waffle, Broccoli and Carrot...but that's for next month's update! It's fun to watch him explore and learn how to handle food on his own.
*In conjunction with starting solids, we've also introduced Asher to a sippy cup. He seems to like chewing on the ones with a silicon sipper, but actually enjoys drinking water from the plastic take and toss ones. He still needs my help to drink from it, but I'm sure he'll figure it out in the next couple months like his big sis did.
*Asher is pretty consistently only waking up once at night.
We did have a night where he went over 9 hours between feedings- woo hoo! Hopefully we'll be sleeping ALL THE WAY through the night more often!
*He has also fallen into a fairly consistent 2 nap pattern during the day. In the past month, we also dropped napping in the swing (phew!) and Asher now takes all his naps in his crib (though he'll generally take his morning nap in his car seat or stroller since we're often out and about)
*Asher went to his first concert on July 16th. He actually went to quite a few in the past month! Summer around here is great and many parks put on a summer concert series featuring some pretty well known kids' musicians/bands.

*On July 29, Asher went in the baby swing at the park for the first time
We've generally been enjoying summer, spending time at parks and with our friends! I'm looking forward to all the fun ahead, but anxious the next 6 months are going to fly by as fast as the first :(
